About Us

Ltyentye Apurte Catholic Education Centre (LACEC) is situated in the Santa Teresa community, about 83 km south-east of Alice Springs. The community started as a Catholic Mission in the early 1950s. The local Arrernte language is the first, most frequently used language. The school also features a strong English as a Second Language (ESL) approach. There are about 600 people in the community and a school enrolment of approximately 130. LACEC provides education to the young people of the community in an environment that promotes the particular ethos of Catholic identity.
